Special Council

That the agenda dated May 15, 2024 be adopted as presented.

THAT the 2024 Chief Administrative Officer hiring committee be comprised of three members of Council, those being Deputy Mayor Bell, Councillor Fisher and Councillor Snutch; AND THAT the Manager of Human Resources act in the capacity of hiring consultant and lead the search; AND THAT an unbiased municipal sector professional be appointed; AND THAT the Terms and References be updated for the hiring committee.

THAT Council enter Closed Session at 9:12 a.m. to discuss a personal matter in accordance with Section 239(2)(b) of the Municipal Act.

THAT Council rise and report from Closed Session at 10:13 am.

THAT we appoint the Manager of Human Resources as Acting Clerk during the discussion to determine the appointment of an interim CAO.

THAT we receive the Organizational Review as information.

THAT Council discussed a personal matter in accordance with section 239(2)(b) of the Municipal Act (Interim CAO appointment); AND THAT staff proceed as directed.

THAT Bill No. 2024.25, and 2024.26 be read a first, second, and third time and finally passed as bylaws.

THAT Bylaw 2024.34, a bylaw to confirm the proceedings of the Special Council meeting held on the 15th day of May 2024, be considered read a first, second and third time and finally passed.

THAT we now adjourn at 10:15 am until May 27, 2024 at 7:00 p.m.
